Speechify builds AI text-to-speech, voice cloning, dubbing and dictation tools used by over 55 million people across 60+ languages.
Speechify is a text-to-speech platform that converts written material into spoken audio using AI voice technology. Founded in 2017 by Cliff Weitzman, a dyslexia advocate, the company builds tools intended to help users read faster, retain more information, and reach content they might otherwise find difficult. Its products span mobile apps for iOS and Android, a Mac desktop application, Chrome and Edge browser extensions, and a web platform, allowing users to listen to PDFs, books, documents, articles and websites. The company reports more than 55 million users worldwide.
Beyond reading aloud, Speechify offers voice cloning, AI-driven dubbing and AI voice generation across more than 60 languages. Its voice typing tools use dictation to let users write up to five times faster. The Chrome extension was named Chrome Extension of the Year by Google, and the company won the 2025 Apple Design Award for inclusivity. Speechify has partnered with figures including Snoop Dogg, MrBeast and Gwyneth Paltrow to promote accessibility.
Speechify operates across accessibility, education, consumer productivity, media and entertainment, and publishing. Its technical work covers speech synthesis, AI voice generation, voice cloning and dictation.
