Tangem builds self-custodial cryptocurrency hardware wallets and accompanying software, giving users direct control over their digital assets. Its main product is a line of NFC-powered, battery-free cold wallet cards that store private keys inside certified secure elements; backup cards allow recovery without exposing a conventional seed phrase. The company also offers multi-card setups and a wearable ring form factor, and Tangem Pay extends the security model to real-world spending.

The Tangem mobile wallet app handles storing, buying, sending, swapping, staking and managing thousands of tokens across more than 90 blockchain networks, with dApp access and yield generation. The software is open-source and community-verified. The company's secure elements, developed with Samsung Semiconductors, are certified to EAL6+.

Technical work spans hardware security and secure elements, NFC technology, cryptography and key management, blockchain interoperability, mobile application development and firmware security auditing. Tangem states that its firmware is independently audited, and that it does not hold, freeze or control customer assets. Products are designed to be durable, battery-free and usable by both experienced crypto users and newcomers.
