World Vision International is a Christian humanitarian organization working in nearly 100 countries on emergency relief, development and advocacy for vulnerable children and families.
World Vision International is the world's largest Christian humanitarian organization, founded in 1950 by Bob Pierce after his work in war-torn Korea. It operates in nearly 100 countries and employs over 30,000 staff, 95% of whom work in their home regions. The organization works alongside communities on integrated emergency relief, long-term development and advocacy for vulnerable children and families.
Its programmes cover five main areas: Clean Water, Education, Health and Nutrition, Child Protection and Livelihoods. In 2025, the organization reached 70 million people with resources to overcome extreme poverty and has set a goal of equipping 300 million people by 2030. Some 86% of operating expenses go directly to programmes.
World Vision International describes itself as powered by Christian faith, guided by the founding motto “Let my heart be broken by the things that break the heart of God” and the belief that every child deserves “life in all its fullness”. Its stated approach is community partnership and localization, with staff drawn from and based in the regions where they work.
